Paskitani Activist Malala Yousafzai Gets Admitted To Oxford

Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist for female education has been admitted into Oxford University, after getting her A-level results.

The world’s youngest Nobel laureate confirmed the news in a tweet congratulating all students getting their results on Thursday.

The 20-year-old will be studying philosophy, politics and economics at Lady Margaret Hall, according to the BBC.

Ms Yousafzai, who lives in Birmingham, had in March revealed she had received an offer to study the three subjects at a UK university, on condition of achieving three As in her A-levels.

She who was born in Mingora, Pakistan, escaped to Britain in 2012 after being shot in the head at age 15 by the Taliban in north-west Pakistan, who were angered by her activism. Two of her school friends injured in the attack.

With guidance from her father, she rose to international prominence as a voice against Islamist violence and an advocate for girls’ education.

She became internationally known after the incident. In April, Ms Yousafzai was made the youngest ever UN Messenger of Peace
