The focus of the meeting is said to be the issues raised at last Thursday’s meeting in the Malian capital, Bamako, between some African leaders and political actors of Mali, in effort to resolve the crisis rocking the nation.

The meeting also has in attendance Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and Ministers of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), State-Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada among others.

The meeting for last week had Buhari, the host President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and Presidents Machy Sall of Senegal, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana and Alassane Ouattara of Cote d’Ivoire, listened to a brief by the ECOWAS Special Envoy, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and leader of the opposition, Imam Mahmoud Dicko and representatives of opposition alliance, M5 and Civil Society Organisations.

Monday’s meeting became necessary after a meeting held last Thursday ended in a deadlock.
