PHOTOS: Moment Buhari Swore-in Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed As New Chief Justice

President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn-in Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed from Bauchi state as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) on Friday.

This followed Buhari’s suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen as the CJN over recent allegations of false assets and non-assets declaration levelled against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The President said Justice Onnoghen’s suspension followed the recommendation he received from the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on January 23.

Justice Mohammed’s swearing-in was said to have held on Thursday evening inside the Council Chamber at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
