Police Rescue 2 Kidnap Victims In Zamfara

No fewer than two abducted persons have been reportedly rescued after a Search and rescue operation by the Zamfara State police command.

The command said their rescue followed an operation at Dumburum and Gidan Jaja forest in Zurmi Local Government Area (LGA), of the state.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Muhammed Shehu, the command said the duo were abducted 19 days ago at the Magami district of K/Namoda LGA.

“The victims were rescued unconditionally during an extensive search and rescue operations”, Shehu said, noting that the rescued persons had undergone medical treatment and had been debriefed by the Police.

On his part, the Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkanah, said “will continue to work assiduously to ensure the unconditional rescue of all kidnapped victims across the state”.

Elkanah further called on members of the public to continue to support the security operatives in the ongoing operations against bandits and other criminal elements in the State.
