Police Suddenly Swing Into Action Over Mysterious Death Of Joy Odama

The Nigeria Police Force Headquarters has declared wanted an Abuja-based Alhaji – Usman Adamu, for allegedly killing one Miss Joy Odama, a 200 Level Mass Communication undergraduate of Cross River State University.

The Force Headquarters also opened disciplinary actions against the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Karmo, for what it described as “professional misconduct” in approach to Joy’s case.

Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood, who confirmed the move, revealed that the major suspect, Adamu is on the run and all police commands across the country have been alerted.

“The said Alhaji Adamu is on the run, but we are looking for him because he has a case to answer.

“All Police Commands across the country have been alerted that the Alhaji is a suspect in the death of Miss Joy Odama and should be arrested if seen anywhere.

Moshood also confirmed the removal of the DPO of Karmo division, saying it was for inefficiency.

It could be recalled that in a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; the Senate President; Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives; Yakubu Dogara, the mother of the deceased, Philomena Odama, said that the last day she saw her daughter was when she left for Alhaji’s place.

Joy, a 200 level undergraduate of Mass Communications at the Cross River State University, was said to have left the house on a faithful afternoon of December 18th, 2016, in the company of her friend, Elizabeth, who had asked the deceased to accompany her to see Alhaji Adamu, whose specialty is granting scholarships to young girls.

The deceased’s mother, Mrs Philomena Odama, in a statement sent to this newspaper, said her daughter innocently followed Elizabeth to see the Alhaji who had then promised to assist with the remaining of her daughter’s tertiary education.

Mrs Odama narrated that Alhaji Adamu, only two days after meeting with her daughter, summoned the deceased to his house to help cater to his housemaid whom he claimed was seriously sick at the time.

Joy had allegedly told her mom before departing for Alhaji Usman’s house, unknowing to Mrs Odama that her daughter was only going to return as a corpse.
