Presidency Dismisses Rumours, Says Buhari’ll Still Travel To UK For Medical Checkup

The Presidency, on Thursday night, reacted to reports that President  had cancelled his trip to London for another round of medical check-up.

Some quarters of the media had reported that the Presidency had chosen to bring to the country the President’s doctors to stop his travelling to the UK for continuation of his treatment.

Recall that Buhari, had only three weeks ago, returned from London on a medical vacation which took about 50 days.

Following his return, Buhari stated that he would return to London for further checkup.

“I am feeling much better now, there may, however, be need to have further follow-ups within some weeks,” the President had said.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the Presidency said the news of the President not going back was false.

“It is false news. We are not aware of the reported advance movements. The last time the President spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed,” Shehu said
