Rivers Councillor Builds Makeshift Toilets As Constituency Project, Residents Joyous

Residents of Coconut Estate Community in Bonny Local Government Area of River State have come out in defense of the councillor who built a makeshift public convenience as part of her Constituency Project.

The community said the Councilor, Hon. Esther People, actually came to their rescue with the project.

Vice Chairman of the Coconut Estate Community in Unit 2, Ward 6 in the LGA, who gave his name as Mr. Fyneface, said the Community was very elated by the development, stressing that the Councilor had fulfilled her campaign promise.

Fyneface said the project was a transitory public convenience for the community which previously lacked basic amenities, saying that the completion was an indication that the other promised facilities would soon be a reality.

He said, “In yielding to the plight of the people of Ward 6, Unit 2 (Coconut Estate) Bonny LGA, the Honourable Councilor representing Ward 6, Hon. Esther pepple saw it fit to deliver on her campaign promise give dividend of democracy despite the financial challenge affecting the sitting councilors in the Legislative Chambers.

“We, the good people of Ward 6, Unit 2 (Coconut Estate) are in an elated mood, and we join our voices with our Chairman to thank the Honourable Councilor for keeping her campaign promise alive and coming to our rescue.”he said.

He stated that this was the first time a public office holder in the area would remember the community for any development since the creation of the Unit.
