Ronaldo Beats Messi To Highest Paid Soccer Player For 2015

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo was the highest paid soccer player in the world for 2015, Forbes report.

The 31-year-old was reported to have earned a mouthwatering $82 million with an annual salary of $53m and $29m in endorsements.

The Portuguese has made $550m over the course of his 14-year playing career.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, came second with $51m salary augmented by $26m (£18m) in endorsements.

The 28-year-old Argentine captain, who has spent his entire career with Barca, has made $450m

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic came third, with the Swede receiving $37m through his salary with the Ligue 1 champions, with only $7m coming through endorsements.

Lionel Messi’s teammate Neymar was named in fourth place with $36m.

According to the report, the Brazilian was the only footballer on the list to earn more in endorsements $22m than through his salary $14m.

Gareth Bale was fifth on the list ($34m). The Welsh international who signed a six-year deal with Madrid in 2013 from Tottenham Hotspur overtook Ronaldo as the football’s most expensive player.
