Secondus Lied About Loot – Lai

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, says National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Uche Secondus, took N100 million from the purse of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

The minister said this while speaking in an interview with Daily Sun.

Mohammed was reacting to a statement credited to the PDP National Chairman, denying collecting money from the NSA.

Secondus was named on the first list of alleged treasury looters released by the Federal Government last week.

But the PDP chairman in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mr Ike Abonyi, denied the government’s claim, threatening to sue the information minister, who delivered the statement.

“For the purposes of some gullible public, Prince Secondus never collected any money from the NSA under any guise,” Abonyi said.

But speaking on Tuesday, Mr Mohammed said: “They have said name the looters and we said these people took money.

“I am saying that on the 24th of February, Secondus took N100 million in cash. The then National Financial Secretary took N700 million.

“These are facts! They said name, and I said these are the people that were reported to have stolen money. So, what is prejudicial about it?

“Let them go and solve their matters in court, but if you challenge us to name names, we will name names!”
