Senator Who Assaulted Nursing Mother Narrates Touching Encounter With Another Woman

Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Elisha Abbo, who assaulted a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja has narrated his encounter with an indigent woman who accosted him during a condolence visit to the Emir of Mubi’s palace in Adamawa state.

In a facebook post, dated January 9, 2020 on his page at Senator Ishaku Abbo, the Adamawa lawmaker said wherever one is today, such a person can make a difference by helping just one person, adding that everyone should “go back to those things that made us human.”

Part of the post reads: “As I was leaving the Palace, people brought this very strong single mother HAJIYA HAUWA MOHAMMED GULAK that’s living with Disabilty and positioned her by my car. Seeing her crawl with her body in the sand and mud when it rains broke my heart. All that this brave woman needs is at least a hand propelled tricycle.

“It is not about her disability, it is about her dignity. People living with disability should live with dignity. As I was talking to her, she broke down in tears. While I was still struggling to be strong, she drew a child to her and that’s when it dawned on me that she’s going about with an out of school child – her son. 

“I ordered a tricycle be given to her that night with little funds to get few household things. I also told my staff to enroll her son to school on my scholarship program. I am calling on all of us to embrace humanity and go back to those things that made us human. 

“I ask myself, It is okay for our society – the family, Neighbours, churches, mosques to continue to watch people living in hell without lifting a hand to help? For goodness sake, the tricycle is just N70,000 to N80,000. It is not millions. 

“Wherever you’re today, you can make a difference by helping just ONE person. We can do it,” the post concluded. 

Recall that Abbo was caught on camera on May 11, 2019 allegedly assaulting a nursing mother, Warmate Osimibibra at a sex toy shop, Pleasure Chest in Abuja.

He was also alleged to have slapped Osimibibra severally on her face and forcefully dragging her shirt without provocation.

His action drew widespread condemnation from Nigerians, which eventually led to his tendering a public apology to the victim.
