Shekau: Boko Haram Leader ‘Blows Self Up’ To Avoid Being Captured Alive – Report

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has reportedly blown himself up to avoid being captured alive by a rival insurgent group.

Shekau’s demise reportedly followed a face-off with members if the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.

According to HumAngle, the incident occurred on Wednesday after the terror group invaded the Sambisa Forest, an enclave of Shekau and his fighters, to arrest him alive.

The report said insurgents who broke away from the Shekau-led Boko Haram in 2016 and joined ISWAP, had engaged Shekau’s faction in a gunfire.
