1,100 Pump-Action Rifles Intercepted At Nigerian Border

The Nigeria Customs Service (NIS), Tin-Can Island Command, said it has intercepted a container laden with 1,100 pump action rifles at the Nigerian border.

Vanguard reports that the riffles, concealed in a 20 foot container, were smuggled into the country from Turkey.

According to the Customs, the consignment was smuggled in with a waybill conveying wash hand basins.

The NIS said the discovery was made after its operatives busted a syndicate that deals on importation of arms into the country.
