Arsenal Board Release Statement On Wenger

Arsenal board on Thursday released a statement on the future of their manager, Arsene Wenger.

The statement comes amidst pressure from fans calling for the sack of the Frenchman, following a poor run of form, which has seen the North London club exit the UEFA Champions League in one of the worst possible way and struggling for a top four spot in the Premier League.

The statement, signed by Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick, said that the club respected the opinion of fans, but any decision on the future of their longest serving manager would be made ‘mutually and communicatied at the right time in the right way’.

The statement reads, “We are fully aware of the attention currently focused on the club and understand the debate.

“We respect that fans are entitled to their different individual opinions but we will always run this great football club with its best long-term interests at heart.

“Arsène has a contract until the end of the season. Any decisions will be made by us mutually and communicated at the right time in the right way.”

Wenger is currently in his 20th year as Arsenal boss and his contract will expire at the end of the season.
