Colombia’s Sanchez Receives First Red Card Of World Cup

Colombia defender Carlos Sanchez has been shown the first red card of the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The former Astoon Villa midfielder was sent off in the 3rd minute by referee Damir Skomina in Colombia’s world cup opener against Japan.

The incident occurred at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk.

In the resulting spot kick, Japan’s Shinji Kagawa kept his cool and sent David Ospina the wrong way.
