Chelsea have finally landed French striker Olivier Giroud from Arsenal for £18million on an 18-month contract, the Premier League clubs confirmed on Wednesday.
Giroud leaves the Gunners having played in their 3-1 defeat to Swansea on Tuesday night, coming off the bench in the latter stages of the game.
He has scored 105 goals in 253 games for London club since signing from Montpellier for a reported £12m in June 2012.
“Chelsea is one of the biggest teams in the Premier League,” the 31-year-old said in a statement.
“They have won maybe the most trophies in the last six or seven years. It’s a massive club and I am proud to sign for Chelsea, and I’m looking forward to playing,” He added

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have also confirmed a deal to sign Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi until the end of the season.
