High Court Denies Omisore Bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday, dismissed the bail application filed by Iyiola Omisore, a former Osun state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2014 election.
Omisore, who is accused of being allegedly involved in the N2.1bn arms purchase, was arrested on July 3.
He has since then been detained in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

In a ruling on Friday, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi held that the bail application was premature and incompetent, adding that he should await the expiration of the 14 day remand order granted by a Court of Coordinate Jurisdiction before exercising his right to bail.
