World Cup Qualifier: Wike Promises Eagles $20,000 For Each Goal Scored

Ahead of Tuesday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Swaziland at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State government has promised the Super Eagles a cash reward of $20,000 (N4, 000,000) for each goal scored.

This information was disclosed by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Kenneth Kobani, after attending the Eagle’s final training session late Monday in Port Harcourt.

Kobani further urged the Nigerian team to do all it takes to ensure victory over the visiting Sihlangu of Swaziland.

The national team, through its twitter handle said: “Rivers State Government pledges $20k per goal against Swaziland. #SoarSuperEagles.”

The Super Eagles need an outright victory to progress into the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers, after playing out a goalless draw in the first leg in Lobamba on Friday.
