You’re A ‘Clueless, Kindergarten Governor’, PDP Carpets Yahaya Bello

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has carpeted Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, calling him a “kindergarten governor” for allegedly lacking consistency in his policies.

The Kogi PDP said this after Governor Bello reversed his decision moments after allegedly sacking his entire cabinet on Sunday.

The party said Bello’s “past hasty decisions to destroy all roundabouts in the state capital, embark on an endless staff screening exercise, the planned sale-off of government properties, and all the governor’s other inconsistencies in making policies have shown poor leadership and brought untold hardships on Kogites.”

The state chapter of the party further expressed concern that the governor`s “one-chance style of administration“ may run Kogi aground if he continues to remain at the helm of the state`s affairs.

The Kogi PDP said, “On a daily basis, Kogi State now thrives in the news all for the wrong reasons, all because Gov Bello does not have what it takes to govern a Kogi State in this age of technological advancement and sound leadership skills, required of a leader,” said the party.

It urged the governor “to bury his ego by tendering an unreserved apology to the people of the state over his leadership inadequacies, lack of clear-cut policy, and for making the state a laughing stock in the comity of States.

“Without mincing words, Kogi State, the PDP observed, is too big for Gov Bello to manage. The state will certainly be in more trouble if the governor is not replaced in 2019 by the PDP,” it said.

The Kogi PDP also said Bello must “quickly meet the demand of medical doctors in the state who have been on strike for over two months due to non-payment of their salaries.”

Responding, Kingsley Fanwo, Governor Bello`s Director-General of media and publicity, said: “the Governor didn’t sack any official. It was just a figment of the imaginations of the rumour mongers. So the issue of reversal doesn’t even arise at all.”

“Our results in the last 24 months showed that the Governor is working with a dynamic, competent and good team,” Fanwo said.
