Suspected Electricity Vandal Electrocuted In Enugu

A yet-to-be identified young man, suspected to be an electricity vandal, has been electrocuted in Enugu. The deceased, said to be about 25-years-old, was electrocuted on 14/09/2020 at about 6:20pm while allegedly attempting to vandalize an Enugu Electricity Distribution Company’s transformer located at Obinagu-Nchatancha, Emene.

Confirming the incident to THE WHISTLER, the Enugu State police public relations officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said the victim was taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead and had been deposited at a mortuary.

Meanwhile, the Enugu State police commissioner, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, while directing the launch of a thorough investigation into the incident, called on the residents of the state to remain law-abiding, vigilant and promptly report suspected persons in and around public facilities and critical assets to the nearest police station or by calling the command’s hotlines on 08032003702, 08086671202, 08075390883 or 08098880172.
