Tambuwal, Makinde, Secondus In Ondo For Jegede

The Sokoto State Governor, Waziri Tambuwal and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday to canvass votes for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) in the October 10 election.

Apart from the two governors, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus; former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Ekiti State Governor, Segun Oni, Otunba Oyewole Fasawe, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Senator Ayo Akinyelure and Senator Tofowomo were among the prominent PDP leaders also present at the rally.

Tambuwal urged the people of the state to troop out on the election day and vote for PDP candidate to end the confusion, hunger and backwardness allegedly foisted on Ondo State and Nigeria by the APC.

The governor, who is a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, said Ondo State voters should vote for PDP, saying the opposition party would use it victory in Edo and Ondo State to begin the restructuring of Nigeria.

Tambuwal said, “In the last election , which party won Ondo State? PDP. Now we expect you to vote Eyitayo Jegede. Jegede is Omoluabi, a gentle man per excellence

“APC is in disarray, not only at the state level but at the national level, they are busy fighting . Are they capable of governing Nigeria? As we speak they do no have BoT. Is that not enough confusion?

“They said they are going to fight corruption, ensure security. Are we secured at all. Economy: instead of bringing succour and relief , they are unleasing hardship on the people by removing fuel subsidy, electricity tarrif. The timing is very wrong.

“Ondo election will be the commencement of restructuring of Nigeria by the PDP.”

Makinde also urged the people of Ondo State to remove the yoke of slavery put on their necks by the APC government. He said Independence from servitude would come for the people in the state on October 10, which he described as a unique date.

Makinde said, “In 2019 in Oyo State, the PDP was not anywhere. The party was not at the federal level, not at the state level and not at the local government but we have God and the people, so, we won them hands down. If it happened in Oyo State it will happen here.

“This election is your Independence. You will deliver a good result. It’s either you want to continue in servitude or freedom.

” We want freedom in the South West . It started in Oyo State and it will continue in Ondo State. Will you stay with candle light or the sun. It is time to let the sun shine again.

“Come.out cast your vote and stay with your vote. Your votes will not only count, it will liberate Ondo State. We shall come back for tanksgiving.”

The National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, said the people of Ondo State would vote PDP.

He said, “Vote out that governor that has turned Ondo State into a family business.

“The only thing is that Buhari should.conduct free and fair election in Edo and.Ondo states. The economy has collapsed, security has collapsed, the only thing remaining for him is to.conduct credible.

“The only thing left for the governor is to rig but we will not allow that to happen.”

Oyinlola said, ” God would liberate Ondo State from this slavery . They promised so much and delivered nothing.

“I want to appeal to all our leaders not to.be angry, let us come together because that is where out strenght lies.”

Oni said” The people of Ondo.and Ekiti are suffering and we want Ondo people to lead the way in removing the yoke from their necks. After theirs, Ekiti people will follow.”

Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Senator Tofowomo, Senator Ayo Akinyelure and other lawmakers present also urged voters to vote Jegede to end the suffering of the people of the state.

Jegede said, ” Today we serve the government of APC quit notice. They must pack and leave the Government House for us.”
