Tanker Explosion: Atiku, Dankwambo, Don Jazzy React

Following the fatal tanker explosion that occurred on Thursday in Lagos, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Gombe State governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, and Mavin boss, Don Jazzy have all reacted to the ugly incident.

No fewer than 9 persons were burnt to death, with 54 vehicles affected after a tanker laden with petrol exploded along Otedola Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

According to the spokesman of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the incident occurred when a Mack tanker truck loaded with 33,000 litres of petrol fell and spilled its content on the road.

Reacting to the brutal accident on Twitter, Atiku wrote, “My thoughts are with the fellow Nigerians who have lost lives and property in the tanker fire in Lagos.

“My prayers go out to the first responders working hard to bring the blaze under control.”

On his part, Dankwanbo said, “My Sincere condolences to the family of those who lost their lives today in an unfortunate fire incidence that occurred at Otedola Bridge, Lagos.

“May God grant quick recovery to the injured and eternal repose to the dead.”

For Don Jazzy, the incident signalled a bad omen for the country.

The music producer wrote, “A lot going on in this country. Bad omen.”
