The Role I Played Before Ganduje Bribe Videos Were Released – Kwankwaso

Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, says he had seen videos where his successor, Governor Abdulahi Ganduje, was seen receiving bribes before they were made public.

Recall that a news website, Daily Nigerian, had released three out of a 15-part series videos where Governor Ganduje was seen allegedly receiving bribe from government contractors, before a Kano State High Court barred the website from further releasing the rest clips.

But Kwankwaso, while reacting to allegations that he was behind the releases, refuted the claims.

The Senator and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 presidential aspirant said he did all he could to stop the website from releasing the videos.

“I was aware of the video clips before they were released to the public and I pleaded that they should not be released, but they didn’t listen to me.

“I am not happy that the video clips were made public because it is an embarrassment to the state and its people, including myself,” said Kwankwaso.

THE WHISTLER recalls that the Kano State House of Assembly had commenced investigation into the Ganduje alleged bribe videos but was stopped by the State High Court.

The development followed an ex parte application filed by a group of legal professionals known as Lawyers for Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria.
