The Whistler’s Editor-at-large, Emmanuel Ogbeche Emerges FCT NUJ Chairman

Renowned journalist, Mr Emmanuel Ogbeche, has emerged the new Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Chapter on Saturday.

Ogbeche, who is editor-at-large at THE WHISTLER, an online newspaper published by the The Whistler Communications Limited, emerged NUJ FCT Chairman at the election that held at the Union’s secretariat in Utako, Abuja.

He defeated his contender, Mrs Rafatu Salami of Voice of Nigeria (VON) by polling 338 votes against the latter’s 193.

Our correspondent gathered that the election which was rated free and fair by majority of participants, started at about 12:00 p.m. after a meeting by NUJ executives and ended at about 7:18 p.m. after the the votes were finished counted.
