The minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung has said the reason for the lingering crisis facing the Nigeria Football Federation is because of the abundance of resources in sports.

The NFF over the past 2-years have been entangled in a leadership tussle between the current president Amaju Pinnick and bitter rival Ambassador Chris Giwa, Chairman of Giwa Football Club.

The sports minister has now traced the NFF crisis to the money in the game.

Dalung, who spoke during an interview on Freedom Radio Kano on Tuesday said “there is more money in sports than in the oil industry.”

“There’s more cash in football than in the oil sector and there is so much selfish interests and as a result we have this crisis.

“There is someone who wants to force his way as the NFF president and that is why I have had to order full police presence at the NFF secretariat, if not work will not be going on there.”
