Timi Dakolo Reacts To Lifting Of Lockdown, Says Nigerians Cannot Observe Social Distancing

Nigerian popular singer, Timi Dakolo, has urged the federal government not to lift the lockdown order introduced to combat the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Dakolo, who shared his views on Twitter, said relaxing the lockdown was not a good idea because Nigerians would not be able to maintain social distancing required when states reopen.

Dakolo said infection figures have kept rising, adding this was not the time to open up states.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday announced government’s plan for gradual relaxation of the lockdown in Lagos and Ogun states as well as the FCT from May 4.

Since the announcement, some states across the country have also eased the lockdown directives to lessen economic hardship on the residents.

Nigeria has since recorded 1,728 confirmed cases of the virus with 51 deaths.
