President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met with three state governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The meeting which took place behind closed doors, held inside the president’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The governors who attended the meeting were Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari; Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru and Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu.
As soon as Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, led the trio out of Buhari’s office, State House correspondent approached them to find out what prompted the meeting.
They, however, refused to disclose the agenda of the meeting.
When asked if the meeting was connected with the factionalisation of the party, Yari said, “It was a private business. It had nothing to do with the APC.”
THE WHISTLER reports that the meeting held few hours after some aggrieved members of the APC formed a new faction, the Reformed All Progressives Congress.
