Why I Released A Song On Igbo Presidency- Musician

A versatile musician, Innocent Chukwuma Eze, aka Centus Spark, Thursday, in Enugu, said his latest song entitled, “Nigerian President of Igbo Extraction 2023: Let’s Support It”, is his own cry for an Igbo presidency come 2023 for the sake of justice, fairness and equity in the country. According to him, Ndigbo have people of impeccable principles that can administer the country with the fear of God.

On why he chose to drum his support through music, Eze said, “Music is the mirror of society. Even mad people understand and dance to music. Angels of God also sing soul-enlivening songs to draw God’s love.”

He said the crux of his music was a clarion call on every part of the country to support moves to elect an Igbo presidency to give them a sense of belonging. In his words, “The theme of the music is that it is the time for Nigeria to give the Igbo nation the chance to lead this country as president. In every ramification, unarguably and by providence, it is the turn of Ndigbo because every other zone has produced presidents of this country, except the Igbo nation. These agitations being experienced across the federation are because of injustice and inequality, one of which is the Igbo presidency. When this is done, you will see absolute harmony in the country.”

On assertions that Igbos lack unity, the reggae musician said, “In my song, I called on Ndigbo to sheathe their swords and embrace one love. We need unity. The ball is on our court, and it only for us to play the game as a team. I have no particular person in mind, but I know that we have many people of impeccable principles to lead this country. I am a musician and speak universal language, so I advocate that our people should sit up and get the peculiar person among the many.”
