Yahaya Bello Rescues Aspiring Pilot’s Career With N30m Training Support
The family of prospective pilot Enejoh Faith has expressed appreciation to former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello for providing N30m that enabled her to complete her pilot training.
Faith and her father visited the former governor on Monday night to update him on her progress and present her academic achievements following the completion of her training.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Bello’s spokesperson, Onogwu Muhammed, Faith and her father had first approached the former governor at his residence on July 17, 2025, to seek financial assistance.
Faith, who arrived at the residence dressed in her flight uniform, had secured admission to undergo pilot training but was unable to raise the required fees. Her father reportedly presented her admission documents and explained the family’s financial difficulties to Bello.
Moved by their situation, Bello agreed to take full responsibility for the N30m cost of her training.
Muhammed said the former governor also provided additional funds to cover unforeseen academic expenses.

The spokesperson added that Bello kept the intervention private at the time, choosing not to publicise the assistance.
During the appreciation visit, Faith’s father disclosed that his daughter had performed exceptionally well in her studies, scoring 89 per cent in her Public Pilot Licence examination.
He also expressed gratitude to Bello for supporting his daughter despite having no prior personal relationship with the family.
Recounting the family’s experience, Faith’s father said the financial pressure of funding his daughter’s education had caused him severe anxiety and affected his blood pressure before Bello intervened.
He said the former governor’s assistance had earned him a lasting place of honour in the family.

Muhammed said Bello’s intervention was part of his private scholarship initiative, which has supported the training of at least four aspiring pilots and sponsored several other students in tertiary institutions within Nigeria and abroad.
He stressed that Faith and her family’s latest visit was not to request further assistance but solely to share her progress and express their appreciation for the former governor’s support.
The family’s gesture comes after Faith successfully completed a crucial stage of her aviation training, marking a significant step towards her ambition of becoming a professional pilot.
