You’re Free To Grumble, Oshiomhole Tells Aggrieved APC Members

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said aggrieved members are free to grumble over the outcome of the ruling party’s primary elections.

Oshiomhole said he wasn’t expecting “graveyard peace” in the APC given the outcome of the primaries that didn’t favour some bigwigs of the ruling party.

The APC Chairman equally renewed his call for Dr Bukola Saraki to step down as Senate President because he’s allegedly in the minority in the upper legislative chamber.

“We have finished our primaries and we have submitted names to INEC and there are internal procedures for reconciliation and we are working on them,” Oshiomhole said during his appearance on Arise TV on Tuesday.

He stated this in reaction to his alleged detention and grilling by the Department of State Services (DSS) after some aggrieved governors accused him of taking bribes during the APC primaries.

“We are a large governing party and it will only be strange if we are having graveyard peace. People are allowed to grumble and grumbling is allowed. We should move on and find solutions,” he said.

On if the APC was still plotting Saraki’s removal, Oshiomhole said, “I think it’s about morality,”adding that, “We just had an election in the US. The democrats won more members in the congress. Without much ado, the leadership of the House changed. This question didn’t have to arise. Saraki belongs to a minority party; as it stands, today, in the senate.

“The truth about democracy is that it’s a game of numbers. It’s unacceptable that minority provides leadership over majority,” he said.
