2024 UTME: JAMB Remits Over N200m To 754 CBT Centers As Registration Charges

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) has remitted the sum of N295,703,800 to Computer Based Test (CBT) centres as registration charges for candidates that registered for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) in the last one week.

A Weekly Bulletin release by JAMB on Monday, stated that the charges were for 422,434 candidates who registered in 754 CBT centers.

Recall that the sales of the UTME application started on Monday, January 15th, 2024 and will elapse on Monday, February 26, 2024.

The Board had disclosed earlier that it will be remitting the registration charges to the centers every week until the registration elapses.

Meanwhile, the JAMB has announced an additional spaces for candidates who wish to take the Mock-UTME.

It urged candidates to register immediately within one week as the Board would not create any further space after they are exhausted.

“By virtue of this expansion, candidates who had registered and acquired the Mock e-PIN before the initial spaces were exhausted, have been automatically slated for the mock-exercise on account of the newly created spaces.

“They would also sit the examination in their chosen examination towns,” it said.

The JAMB Mock-UTME is an annual optional examination introduced by the Prof. Is-haq Oloyede-led administration in 2017 to prepare prospective candidates for the main UTME.

The examination was designed as a vehicle to enable the Board to ascertain the readiness of its facilities ahead of the main examination.
