Abba Kyari: Nigeria’s Security Problems Will Worsen If… – Balarabe Musa

Balarabe Musa, former civilian governor of old Kaduna State, has described the acrimony among aides of President Muhammadu Buhari as unhealthy for the country and the war against insurgency.

Musa who spoke to THE WHISTLER following the publication of a leaked official memo signed by the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno to the service chiefs, said the war against terrorism would worsen unless presidency aides work together and not at cross purposes.

“My immediate reaction is to say that it is their problem. But I will advise them to settle whatever differences they have and work together in the interest of this country.

“Nigeria cannot win the war against insurgency if they are fighting among themselves; infact the insecurity in the country will worsen unless they start working together. I will not say more than this.”

Monguno had directed service chiefs to desist from taking orders from President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari,

NSA Monguno’s directive was contained in memo addressed to the Chief of Naval, the Chief of Air Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director General, the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Director General, State Security Service (SSS) and the Chief of Defence Intelligence.

In the memo, Monguno accused Kyari of undue and dangerous interference with matters bordering on national security.
