The chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Asiforo Okere, while welcoming the decampees drawn from Isialangwa North and South and Osisioma LGAs, said the PDP would give every member a sense of belonging and level playing field.

In a speech, the special adviser to the governor on general duties, Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu, and the Isialangwa South PDP LGA chairman, Sir Edwin Ihejirika, affirmed that the decamping of the hitherto APGA members to the PDP would move the party to enviable heights.

The decampees, including ex-chairman of APGA in Isialangwa South LGA, Mr Fineface Oguobi; his Isialangwa North counterpart, Mr Martins Onwuka, and that of Osisioma Ngwa LGA, Mr Samuel Nkoro, said their decision to join the PDP was based on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s developmental and infrastructural strides across the state.

The event attracted the member representing Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Darlington Nwokocha; member representing Isialangwa North State Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe; PDP chieftains, council chairmen, traditional rulers, among others. It also witnessed the public destruction of the APGA party register and membership cards by the decampees.
