Abia Lawmaker Lauds Buhari, Kalu, Others On Arochukwu Power Station

The member representing Arochukwu Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Dr. Mike Ukoha, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate Chief Whip, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and the Minister of Power, Engr. Saleh Mamman, on their efforts to revitalize the abandoned Electric Power Station in Uburu Ihechiowa, Arochukwu LGA of Abia State.

The lawmaker gave the commendation during the inspection of the power station by the minister of power at Arochukwu and expressed delight that after years of abandonment, the power station would soon receive full attention.

Hon. Ukoha, specifically thanked President Buhari and Senator Kalu, who represents Abia North, for being at the forefront of the rehabilitation efforts.

He noted that when completed, the station would make the people of Arochukwu LGA have a sense of belonging as well as feel the true impact of democracy in action.

He further hinted that the station would help to bring about even development and industrialization, which would contribute to the revenue base of Abia State and Nigeria in general.

Earlier, Engr. Mamman expressed joy at the warm reception given to him by the people of Arochukwu and assured that work would soon commence at the station due to its strategic importance to the country’s economy.

Speaking at the event, Senator Kalu explained that the power station was started during his tenure as Abia State governor and assured that the government of President Buhari would complete the project for the betterment of the people of Arochukwu.
