Abia Warriors Goalkeeper Shot

Abia Warriors of Umuahia goal keeper, Charles Tambe was shot by hoodlums on Friday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

He has been admitted to the University College Hospital, Ibadan for proper medical care.

The shot stopper was said to be on a road walk when suspected miscriants accosted him and took some valuables from him before shooting him.

The club’s Sporting Director, Patrick Nwaogwu , in a statement confirmed the attack on the player and declared the club’s full involvement in the situation.

“Abia Warriors goalkeeper Charles Tambe was shot by hoodlums in Ibadan this morning.”

“He has been rushed to UCH for medical attention. The club is on top of the situation.”

The player is on break because the Nigerian Professional Football League ( NPFL) is on break due to outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The sad event followed a series of attacks on NPFL players as Enyimba FC and Abia Comet players were Kidnapped two weeks ago but later regained freedom.
