A yet-to-be identified man has been killed by a Toyota Corolla vehicle on Thursday in Abuja.
The vehicle reportedly knocked down three pedestrians near the office of the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD) at Asokoro, leaving one person dead and two others injured.
The Head, Public Affairs, FEMD, Nkechi Isa, in a statement, confirmed the fatality of the incident.
The Head of FEMD search and rescue team , Mr Monday Adie, said the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle after brake failure.
“The Toyota Corolla vehicle rammed into three pedestrians before coming to stop after it hit a police patrol van,” Aide said.

Adie further stated that two of the survivors of the incident; Nicholas Daduwo (male) a staff of the High Court Central Area and Ernest Nwah (male), a resident of Apkabio Asaka street Asokoro have been taken to the Asokoro General Hospital for treatment, while the body of the third victim, a male has also been deposited at the morgue of the hospital.
Meanwhile, a separate road accident along Kubwa Expressway has left two persons injured.
According to Nkechi, the accident occurred when a vehicle moving at top speed veered into a gutter. She added that both victims of the incident have been taken to the hospital.
