Adamawa Guber: PDP Defeats Gov Bindow Inside Govt House

Governor Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa State has lost the state Government House polling units 012 and 09 to candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Umaru Fintiri.

Announcing the result of polling unit 09 on Saturday in Yola, Mrs Sumayya Aliyu, INEC Presiding Officer said Fintiri scored 167 votes against Bindow’s 108 votes.

Also, Ms Yemi Adetiba Presiding Officer at polling unit 012, announced that Fintiri garnered 136 votes against Bindow’s 81.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa, Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly on Saturday defeated both PDP and ADC candidates with large votes in unit 006, Wuro-Hausa, Adarawo Ward in Yola South.

Mijinya, candidate of APC garnered 466 votes to beat candidate of PDP, Adamu Baba who polled 126. Ahmed Mahmoud of ADC got 84 votes.

The APC also won the governorship in Yola South, with incumbent Governor Bindow polling 410 votes to defeat PDP’s Ahmadu Fintiri and Senator Abdulazeez Nyako of ADC who got 134 and 136 votes.

The APC governorship candidate won the polling unit 006 of Dr Mahmoud Halilu, younger brother to Aisha Buhari, wife of the President.

While APC got 179, PDP polled 112 and ADC got 79 votes.

The polling unit is in Korea, Mbamoi, Ward in Yola South local government area.
