Again, Court Grants FG’s Application To Halt NLC,TUC Planned Strike

The National Industrial Court in Abuja, on Friday, granted federal government’s ex-parte application against the planned strike action by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress.

The application, which was filed by the Office of the Attorney- General of the Federation, had sought a restraining order against the strike action.

Justice Ibrahim Galadima, who presided over the matter, granted the application.

The Acting Director of the Department Civil Litigation of the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs Maimuna Shiru, and Mr Tijjani Gazali were the Federal Government’s counsel, The Punch reports.

Recall that an ex parte order was also granted against NLC and TUC on Thursday.

The application was filed the Unity Ambassadors Association.

NLC and TUC decided to embark on the action in a bid to force the FG to reverse the electricity tariff and petrol pump price hike.
