AGF Malami Mourns Ibrahim Attahiru, To Honour Late Army Chief With Low-Key Wedding For Son

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, says late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, will be remembered as a selfless Nigerian.

Malami, through his spokesperson, Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, described the military aircraft crash that led to the death of Attahiru as a national tragedy.

“Malami received the news of the crash of the military aircraft in Kano while attending to guests in preparation for the wedding ceremony of his second son, Abiru Rahman Malami billed for tomorrow.

“Malami described the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru and members of his team as dedicated patriotic Nigerians whose efforts to improve the security situation of the country was manifest.

“Malami prayed to Allah to grant eternal salvation for all that lost their lives in the air mishap,” the AGF said in a statement.

While praying that God should grant the victims’ family members the fortitude to bear the loss, Malami said the wedding of his son will be in low key to honor the dead.

“The late Army Officer who died in active service to the nation will always be remembered as a selfless and patriotic Nigerian who is passionate in duty,” Gwandu stated.

Recall that the Nigerian Air Force had on Friday confirmed that an air crash involving its aircraft occurred “this evening near the Kaduna International Airport.”

It added that the immediate cause of the crash was yet to be ascertained.
