Amotekun Arrests Suspected Robbers Along Oyo-Ogbomoso Road

The Oyo State Chapter of the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun has arrested some suspected armed robbers who have been terrorising travellers at the Ijawaya village on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road.

This was announced in a statement on Sunday by the Commandant of Amotekun in Oyo State, Col. Olayinka Olayanju.

He said Ijawaya community near Oyo town had become a danger zone as armed robbers usually attack travellers there.

Olayanju said during the joint patrol of Amotekun on Friday, the security agents were able to apprehend the robbers who in turn led them to their hideout.

The statement read, “Ijawaya village,on the Ogbomoso/Oyo has being a dark spot for a long time, because travellers were always robbed there at nights.

“At the joint patrol of Amotekun Corps,Oyo Zone, yesterday night, the suspect was apprehended with the help of the villagers who led us to the robbers’ hide-out. He has been handed over to the Police.”
