Angry Motorists Block Lagos-Ibadan Expressway As Stray Cattle Cause Accident

Angry motorists have blocked the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to protest the accident caused by some cows that strayed to the path of a speeding truck on the road.

It was gathered that the accident happened at Onigari village which falls within the Ogun State section of the road.

The accident was said to have happened on Tuesday morning.

Some Fulani herdsmen were reportedly herding scores of cows and some of the animals were said to have strayed to the expressway and caused a truck which hit them to fall.

A passenger in one of the vehicles that got stuck on the road told our correspondent that the blockage had resulted into a gridlock

He said, ” The express is blocked. I was told that some people are protesting because of the accident.

” They said the accident was caused by some cows that strayed to the road. I found this out from our driver who left the bus in the traffic and went to find out what happened.”
