The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state have employed “hide and seek” method to frustrate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from serving court papers challenging the party’s victory in the September governorship election in the state.

Days after the PDP approached the tribunal, the APC secretariat in Benin has remained closed with no officials in sight prompting the PDP to apply for substituted service.

Faced with no alternative, it was a sight to behold as the PDP officials and court bailiffs attached huge court documents to the gate of the APC secretariat.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared the candidate Godwin Obaseki of the APC as the winner of the election.

According to the electoral umpire, Obaseki had a total of 319,483 votes while his counterpart in the PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, polled 253,173 votes to come second.

The opposition rejected the result, which it described as a fraud, and accused INEC of alleged complicity.
