ARISE TV MD, Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, Tops List Of Most Powerful Women Journalists in Nigeria

The managing director of Arise TV, Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, has been named the most powerful woman journalist in Nigeria.

The ranking is according to the Women in Journalism Africa (WiJAfrica), a continental gathering of leading women in the media.

Nwogwugwu topped the list of 25 most powerful women in journalism in Nigeria put together by WiJAfrica.

In a tweet, WiJAfrica said it worked with a team of industry leaders and practitioners in ranking the 25 most powerful women journalists out of 150 candidates.

The organisation said It measured the most powerful women journalist by four criteria including “the size and effectiveness of influence in national affairs, influence in the media industry, experience and the arc of career and finally, social and cultural influence”.

Others On the list include Kadaria Ahmed, Christiana Anyanwu, Olusola Momoh, Bilikisu Labaran, Stella Din Jacob, Lady Maiden Ibru, Mo Abudu ,Funke Egbemode, Tosin Dokpesi, Toun Okewale Sonaiya, Ruth Osime, Toyosi Ogunseye, Ifeyinwa Omowole, Maupe Ogun Yusuf, Uche Pedro, Linda Ikeji, Morayo Afolabi Brown, Adesuwa Onyenokwe, Eugenia Abu, Stephanie Busari, Kiki Mordi, Ruona Meyer, and Adedoja Allen and Angel Emuwa.
