BBREAKING: Super Falcons Protest Non-Payment Of Allowances At NASS

The Nigerian government has let the 8th time winning members of the female football national team, the Super Falcons, as they stormed the National Assembly early Wednesday protesting the non-payment of their allowances by the Nigerian Football Federation.

The team which won the 10th edition of the African Women championship just held in Cameroon having refused to vacate their hotel and holding on to the trophy until they are paid.

They are being owed about $24,000 each, approximately N11.5 million each.

Sports journalist, Aderonke Bello, who is leading the protest said women football deserves respect like their male counterparts and hoped the government will resolve the matter finally by paying the players.

President Muhammadu Buhari is due to visit the National Assembly today to present the estimates of the 2017 budget to lawmakers, a move the girls hope will ginger him to addressing the matter.

Some of their placards read, “We are your children, pity us”; “Let us respect women”; “female football deserves respect.”
