BREAKING: Buhari Receives Final Report On Magu Probe

President Muhammadu Buhari has received the final report of the judicial commission of inquiry that investigated allegations of corruption against the former acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.

The report was presented to President Buhari on Friday by the chairman of the panel, Justice Ayo Salami (retired), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Buhari promised to ensure implementation of the panel’s recommendations.

THE WHISTLER had exclusively reported that the panel was schdeuled to submit the report to the president today, Friday.

This newspaper reported that Buhari had written to Justice Salami, directing the panel to prepare to make presentation of the report at the Exco Chambers of the Presidential Villa on Friday.

The Salami panel which started sitting on July 6, 2020, was mandated by the president to investigate allegations of mismanagement of assets recovered by the EFCC under Magu.

Buhari’s directive followed allegations levelled against the suspended EFCC chairman in a letter written to the president by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
