Kidnappers Free 27 Kaduna Forestry College Students

Captors of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization students have reportedly freed some of the victims on Wednesday.

This came barely 24 hours after parent of the victims stage a protest at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

Details of the development are still sketchy, but bandits the were said to have released 27 of the students.

Recall that the institution was attacked at the early hours of March 12, during which gunmen abducted no fewer than 39 students.

The abductors had demanded huge ransom for the students’ release, but the Kaduna State government had declined their demands.

Governor Nasir El-Rufia, on several occasions, noted that the state would never pay ransom for kidnapped students, and rather said that the perpetrators (bandits) should be killed.

Meanwhile, sixteen out of the scores of students recently kidnapped from the Greenfield University in Kaduna State are still in their captor’s den. One of them was reportedly released on Saturday.
