BREAKING: Nigerian Envoy To Côte d’Ivoire Dies

Ambassador Ibrahim Isah, Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire is dead. He died after a protracted illness.

This was disclosed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement signed by the ministry’s spokesman, George Edokpa on Wednesday.

The statement which says the envoy, a career diplomat, died on Tuesday in Abidjan added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geofrey Onyeama and members of staff of the ministry received the sad news of his death with great shock.

The statement further prayed the Almighty God to grant his family and the nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Isah, who hailed from Niger State, joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in 1983 and served in different capacities both at the headquarters and in various Missions.

He served at the Nigerian High Commission in Sierra Leone, Consulate in New York, Jeddah and the Nigeria Embassy in China He was Charge d’Affaires of the Nigeria Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, until his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary/ Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire in 2018. He was married and blessed with children.
