BREAKING: Osun Police, OPC Engage Kidnappers In Gun Battle To Rescue Adducted Passengers

Policemen, hunters and members of the Odua People’s Congress rescued four out of the passengers gunmen kidnapped from a bus in Osun State on Monday.

Security agents stormed the hideout of the kidnappers inside the forest and opened fire on them.

The hoodlums were said to have engaged the armed security agents in a fierce gun battle.

A security source from the scene told journalists that one the of rescuers was shot by the hoodlums who he said were Fulani.

He said the kidnappers were deep inside the forest and unless help came on time the injured vigilante might not survive it.
The shooting, he said had made the security agents to intensify their efforts to finish all the hoodlums.

More armed policemen were said to have been deployed to join their colleagues inside the bush to rout the kidnappers before nightfall.

The Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, confirmed the operation but said he would give details later.
