Breaking: Petrol Tanker Explodes In Ibadan

A fuel-laden tanker exploded at the Iyaganku area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the tanker fell at the Iyaganku area on the way to Apata area and exploded some hours later

The tanker, which fell near a filling station, caused panic among residents of the area as security agents cordoned off the road.

The was said to have caused gridlock on the road and adjoining streets as motorists were redirected to Iyaganku quarters to avoid the scene.

The Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mrs Uche Chukwura, confirmed the explosion to journalists.

She said, ‘ Yes, a tanker fell around Iyaganku area but our men are already there controlling the traffic.”
