“Following consultations and in response to calls by major stakeholders in the state, I have moved to the PDP as APC can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of my people,” he tweeted.

Their defection comes a week after 14 senators and 36 members of the House of Representatives dumped the ruling party, with a vast majority pitching tents with the PDP.

Governor Ahmed had earlier signaled that he may soon dump the ruling party for the PDP. Last Thursday, the governor said the people of Kwara state has asked him and others to leave the APC.
