The former Governor of Katsina state, Ibrahim Shema, who was declared wanted on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has turned himself in.

Shema was declared wanted by the anti-graft agency for alleged mismanagement of N74.6billion while he was governor of the state.

According to Vanguard, Shema reported to EFCC office in Abuja around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

It was earlier reported that the EFCC had said that the former governor was declared wanted after efforts to get him to respond to the allegations through invitations failed.

Spokesperson to the governor, Oluwabusola Olawale, said he (Shema) surrendered himself because “he is a law abiding citizen who has absolutely nothing to fear,” adding that that Shema “went to submit himself to the EFCC even though the agency has not been fair to him in handling his case.”
